Ironically, the discussion on SundanceChannel blogs hasn't touched on the heavy pollution it creates just to produce a tv show, film production or series. Individually som many of us are 'aware', but collectively our industry is not-carbon neutral. Our trucks, the fuel we use, the water bottles on set we use, the plastic forks etc are serious polluters at serious numbers. A lot is underway - recycling sets/wood, turning to bio-diesel, sourcing safe paint, equipment and supplies. But we need to keep talking about it, pointing out why it should be an industry wide responsibility, top to bottom.

I think itīs possible to green film production. A good model is some initiatives in the music industry where entire productions were recorded with renewable energy. Another direction is Stellet Licht-Silent Ligt from Reygadas where he didnīt use any artificial lights, just natural light and yet is one of the most amazing lighting jobs Iīve seen in any film ever. Small crews, natural light, thatīs a greaat way to go. http://www.greenfilmalliance.org
