National Seashore Posted on Jul 8 2008 at 8:16pm by seven years ago i opened eco-beach.com on an island off florida nw coast. the shop was devoted to outfitting visitors with environmentally friendly beach gear bikes kayaks surfboards etc. eco-beach was built to service the Gulf Islands National Seashore and the 18 mile bike trail that was finished in late 01' back to back hurricanes ivan in 04'then dennis in 05' have left the road through our National Seashore in ruin. I would like a film crew to come down and film the island and its state four years after the first hurricane came through. the debris feld of tires through this stretch of national seashore needs to be documented so something will done about it once and for all. A few locals have taken it upon ourselves to get out and clean it up but we have been held back by red tape and nesting sea birds.
