I would like everyone to know about us! We are a community of 400+ farmers who have built a non-profit 7 million dollar solid fuel plant in Western Missouri. We utilize no grain or feed crops, but process a engineered fiber fuel from switchgrass, agriculutural residues, and wood waste. The "bio-pellets" are used locally to heat our homes(at 1/3 the cost of natural gas or propane) and the remaining bio-pellets are being burned with coal at a local utilty. We reduce carbon dioxide 1.7 tons with every 1 ton of bio-pellets used. Our harvesting, collection and processing is all carbon neutral- with enviromental attributes-wildlife/clean water/SUSTAINABLE!
Our plans next is to go with a liquid fuel- using the same material
and it was built with very little help from anyone- except the farmer members - www.goshowmeenergy.com

As a group of farmer's have you ever thought about producing Methane Power. I saw a great episode on The Green about this, and a farmer in Penn. is doing it. Would be interested in exploring the possibility of doing so in Central Florida. Any advice on either power source?
