I thought this documentary was especially beneficial for New Yorkers.
Mayor Bloomberg, last year, proposed a project that was called 'congestion pricing'.
Right away I was a 'cheerleader'. Unfortunately, all kinds of programs have to go through the state legislature, and there it died of strangulation. From the state assembly, whose leader didn't have an open vote, said 'no'.. This was Seldon Silver so that noone knows who voted 'no', he is the only assemblyman or woman who can be held accountable.
Now this project could be seen as something that can be brought about in the future; however, the 'project' was to be coupled with millions from the federal government, it had been promised. With that money the transportation system for the metropolitan area would been repaired and upgraded. It would also be used to set up 'congestion pricing' until it could pay for itself.
My own response to this defeat is that as the years go by, this non-action could be seen as the beginning of the downfall of New York City for everybody.
