NJC... Has an interesting ring to it... It's the abbreviation of Non-Judgmental Christian. It's hard to be one of those anymore. I'm up late and watching the first episode that I've ever seen of "One Punk Under God". I have to say a few things. Firstly, I thoroughly admire your strength, faith, and determination. I have very rarely seen anyone so devoted to what they do and to what God has called them to do. Even in the face of such adversity.

Secondly, My sincere condolences to your family. Your mother had God's spirit within her and it is very evident to me watching her in this episode (it's on 5/17/08, in case you're wondering). My mother passed into His Graces on February 7 of this year, a position she earned throughout her life. I can honestly say that I know how you feel and there isn't a moment that anyone can tell you to get over it. Moving on is something that must be accomplished, but with time. Getting over it is another story. Only God Himself can heal a wound as deep as losing a mother. Again, I am so very sorry and my prayers are with you.

Thirdly, I watched you and your board director speaking at his cabin. I was almost instantaneously disgusted as he spoke these words, "..being a businessman, I feel that I could take advantage of his notoriety and how well people know him." I watched that with disgust because of the words he had just prior spoken to you about God and the New Testament and what were his own interpretations on "giving".. how he thought that it was comperable that people could be broke and could still give and that people could be in affairs and could "fix their marriage". I agreed with your statement on the lack of severity.

God knows the hearts of men and that's the important thing. When I hear things like this come out of the mouths of other people, for some reason, a fire envelopes me. I can't explain it. It's almost as though someone is attacking one of my own children. It's the same when I see the new "buy the Bible" toys at a certain nation-wide retail chain (that shall remain nameless). Something's not right there. The reason that I got angry in this specific instance is because of the phrase, specifically, "take advantage of".

That IS wrong. God shouldn't be bought or sold. God should be given. That IS Biblical. It is true, it is Biblical as well to give. It isn't, however, Biblical to capitalize on the misfortune and misery of others. I tell you these things in hopes that you can benefit from them in your pursuit to bless the world with the knowledge of God, not what men want you to to tell the world about men. Please be well and God bless you. I pray that He is with you... and I know that He is every day. He is the legs on which you stand. I know this because He has kept me from falling every day since she went home.

My love, respect, and God bless,
    Mikki
