Environmentalism is one of those ideas that changes the way we look at all other ideas. Social Justice is a similarly game-changing idea. But what happens when you combine the two? does one have to win? Is there an obvious synthesis? Is there an obvious conflict? We want to hear your thoughts on the role of social justice in saving our planet from destruction, and conversely the role of environmenalism in establishing a truly just society.

    Let us know your thoughts!

Social justice and environmentalism in America??? Those days are dead and buried I'm afraid. You know, after watching many of your shows I'm struck at just how backwards Americans are (and especially American political leadership) when it comes to making any positive changes toward these ends. In fact, I think that after a few more republican (Bush-like) administrations in America, the republicans will actually be farming democrats and other independently-minded people in order to produce food for republican livestock. Of course this will all be done in the name of freedom and democracy. The only thing the we Americans can hope for is that the Japanese or Europeans will show us what to do in order to achieve some degree of social justice with some degree of environmentalism - all the while our leaders will have their heads firmly implanted up their asses. Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness used to make up a large part of the American dream. Now it is (1) to continue to consume at all costs, (2) take your directions and form all of your opinions directly from Fox "News," and (3) be prepared to go and fight and die in some fake war so as to protect Halliburton's profits.
