I am the mom of a 15 year old transgender teen you can never know the pain and agony she has gone through because of her gender issues when she tried to stay in our church and serve the lord she was told she was an abomination to the lord and would burn in hell she went home and tried to kill herself and at that time turned her back on god got on druggs and said she was going to burn in hell anyways, would jesus have responded to her in that manner i think not jesus wants love acceptence and even temperment.I believe everything is of the lord he makes no mistakes, could these issues be his way of teaching us to love outside the "norm" , could they be the ultimate test of faith in loving our neighbor as we should love our selves. I choose to consintrate on being an example of love at all times i'll let the lord deal with the rest. Thank you again and bless you and yours

I most recently found about Jay and his work as he will be attending our church and speaking on Palm Sunday. I am a gay male that understands to an extent what your daughter is going through. I grew up in a pentecostal church and left because I myself wanted to kill myself because I was told I was a abomination. As I went to graduate school to study psychology, I began to research the topic of homosexuality and religion. I found clairty for myself and found that my God loves me and your daughter regardless of what others may think. I think back to John 3:16 for God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son that Whosoever believes in him shall not parish. God does not place restrictions on who HE will accept, people do. Tell your daughter that she has a community that is supportive and that embraces her; not only as a gay community but as a christian community.
