| Absolutely not!!!! I'm a gay man, more specifically a bottom. If I would like to sell myself for a certain amount of money, I feel that is my choice and my right. Why should you charge these women with severe penalties when you should be charging the men who go to them with the same or more severe. A prostitute would not be a prostitute if the customer did not exist. Why charge one with a severe offense but not the other. Men set that rule, and it's absurd!

| no! and labor laws are being severely violated on these women. for them not to have work shifts, not being allowed to leave when not working, is a violation of their constitutional rights. their work is a business, and laws apply in this situation. they should contact a well experienced labor law attorney

| I agree, but at the same time can see why they would not go ahead with that plan. Why would you purposely go in front of a judge and say "I'm a prostitute and I'm unhappy with my working situation???

| hi I work at the Chicken ranch we are allowed to leaving when not working. Everyone knows going in that you have to stay at least 10 days. Thats part of the law that makes it legal. So girls can make that choice before they get here. There have been plenty of times when things come up and girls have to leave early and theres never a problem. I enjoy being here because it is legal. I got arrested years ago it was a sting at a very nice hotel 5 men in SWAT gear and machine guns charged in. All to arrest little old me!! You kind of contradict yourself in your statement Samantha. The chicken ranch does allow you to leave early if you need to, but you can't leave when you're simply not working. Up north, the girls have shifts and if they're not on the floor they can go wherever they want.
That is not the case down south. I have never been allowed to leave the Chicken Ranch when I was off the floor unless it was doctor day. If you leave, you're gone. They are not going to allow you to go out to lunch or shopping because you're off the floor and then let you come back to work. I think that's what everyone was referring to.

| oh by saying "not working" I meant when you leave the house sorry I did not make myself clear. And I wrote I have "never seen a problem" meaning with girls leaving early. I have heard about being able to work a shift up north and then leaving that sounds really nice. I just wanted people to know we are not here against our will or have no idea what we are getting into. Hope biz is good for you and all the gals up north!! Samantha

There are labor violations in the Chicken Ranch! We have had roof leaks for all years I have worked there. They have given not one moment of concern for mold issues. No blowers, no carpet pulled back and more and more leaks appeared.
I left the night of the last photo shoot for Pleasure for Sale. It rained all day, into the night and new dips in the ceiling scared me so bad I ran from the building. I was so afraid of electical fires that I could never have slept there that night.

goddamit, rose... i respect ur experiences and understand your journey and how much of it is bigger than your days at the CR but girl, u r really beginning to piss me off. I am sorry that your last shifts at the CR were a nightmare for you. I know you have moved beyond it yet still your perspective remains in the voice of the victim. YOU ARE NOT A VICTIM but an active player in your life, Rose, and you know as much as I do, bitch you got some major game. So, all this "I don't want to see.." is beneath you. You may not WANT to see, but you are and have always been open to the TRUTH and REALITY of life's dualities. Everyone is entitled to their process. Why you are on this mission of dissing us bitches still at the CR or looking down at women who's stories are not that dissimilar to your own, but haven't come to the understanding that you have arrived at stabs at my heart.
I respect you, Rose, and you will always own a place in my heart for all you have shown me during 2007. This is why I have to express my absolute disagreement with how you are carrying on against the CR since you have left. Your negativity is more toxic than all the mold drying up within the hallowed halls of the World Famous. Calm the frig down about how bad it was for you the last month here. For years, the CR was good to you. For years, you were a Star at the CR. You were made the star of the documentary because of how you personified the qualities of what makes a CR girl different from other working girls. Please, i beg you as your sister in soul, focus ur energies towards loving acceptance. It kills me to hear you whine about shit that no longer should concern you. We accept it. We accept you. If you choose to ignore my request, I will continue to love you and respect your decision. I hope you can appreciate having known me that I needed to call you out. You are grace personified. Have you forgotten?

More honesty and less drama wouldnt have hurt this program. I was here the night you left Rose. That was NOT the reason you gave for leaving. Please be honest. The cameras are off and long gone, time for the acting has passed.
Certainly, there were roof leaks, it was the rainy season, it was horrible. I completely agree. But Rose, you were not here for the repairs were you? No, since you left, for other reasons that you are implying.

| Employment vs Independent Contractor |
Posted on Feb 18 2008 at 7:26pm by Arielle

Im sorry, but as a working lady at the Chicken Ranch, I must chime im here on this topic.
Firstly, we are not employees. We are independent contractors, 1099 contractors, who sign contracts to that effect.
Secondly, we do have shifts, much easier shifts than many of the other houses in Nevada. The way that some of the ladies portrayed this subject was very misleading, let me tell you. (I have seen the entire european version of the show, not only the currently released episodes)
One of the stipulations to working at the Chicken Ranch, and the other southern houses is that you will not leave the ranch during your work contract, other than to go to town to the doctor on "doctor day". The main reason for this is the feeling toward prostituion in Las Vegas. A working lady could, hypathecially speaking, go and meet clients there during their "off time", violating Nevada law,and cutting the house out of its share of the proceeds. The owners of the brothels in this area have decided that it is not worth the risk, and implemented this rule many years ago. In the Northern houses, yes, the ladies are allowed to come and go more freely, even going home to their families when off shift. The law states that any lady who is absent from the house for more than 24 hours must be retested. Southern Vs Northern, it is the same. Politics in the regions, are different, and therefore the houses policies, must be different.
Any woman entering the business should be responsible for herself and do her research before choosing a region, and individual house, to work in. This business is not for everyone. Choose the house based on the policies that will suit you best.
