    Dear Group,
I'd like to submit an idea for a documentary by an independant filmmaker. I'm in the process of locating a medical center in the US who will help a little 12-year old girl in Luxor, Egypt who was born with arthrogryposis multiplex congenita. You can look up the details of this birth defect on the Internet, but basically her elbows and knees are bent backwards. I'm trying to locate a filmmaker who might like to document the process of her treatment.
Can you give advise on how best to communicate with the independant filmmaker community on this idea?
    Thank you for your assistance,
    Judith Cote

My partner and I are hunting for a location to purchase acreage in Southern Arizona to convert, or build from scratch, something like what is featured on "It's Not Easy Being Green." We would like to document the experience for a US version of the show. Any takers? It would be a hoot!

      • RE:Solar Rebates/Tax Incentives? Posted on Feb 28 2008 at 7:20pm by wbonney
There are so many cash rebates, tax credits, tax incentives, property tax exemptions for SOLAR ELECTRICITY (Photovolatic) generation for HOME and BUSINESS. Most people across america have no idea these are out there and most are hungry for the infomation to put these systems on there homes to go green and save money. Please do a documentary on this so more people can afford to go green. Also put a spot light on the states that are making a differance and the ones that are not offering anything. Thanks, Bill Bonney

I would like to see a documentary on "Going Green" in apartment living.
This isn't a world wide earth shaking movement, but a "start small" and see what happens project.

I don't know anything about doing this but, I keep thinking how much better my apartment would be if it was green.
After seeing the documentary Waste=food I thought these are the people who could talk to owners of property... WHY because the owners must be profitable, must satisfy the Investors. These people get that.
Otherwise it would fall on deaf ears.
My place is such a waste of energy especially heat. Which is gas forced hot air and costs a absolute fortune in the winter. It goes from $32 in summer to over $400 in the winter. Which is why I plan on moving ASAP.
        Their incentive:
Limiting turnover. Still making a profit with a great selling point.
The setting here I think is a good one for 'going green'. We have acres of land/woods around us. The buildings are small, but unfortunately not insulated and the windows... cheap as they come.
The furnace sits in an outdoor uninsulated enclosure. the Intake vent sits on an outside uninsulated wall... result; cold air blows in all winter, furnace runs all the time.
The roofs are angled and are not blocked by the trees,
        so solar could work.
Simple low water usage toilets could work,
Instant on hot water could work.
They had some recycling of cans/bottles then stopped it !
The rebates for going green could be a huge incentive, as would being the first... [in this state.]
I came across an apartment complex that boasts it has the low flow toilets the instant on hot water.
and it's a very old building.

Where I come from my city likes to boast that it has so many green buildings and initiatives to "go green" So I say put your money where you mouth is. [b]I would like to see a documentary on "Going Green" in apartment living.

      Hello there,

I work for an independent production company and I'm following an AMC story - did you manage to get yours away? It would be great to hear how you got on. Glad other people are interested in the people who have this condition and how science is changing to provide options.

Drop me a line on ally@firecrackerfilms.com - thanks so much!

Just signed on and saw this post. My son has arthrogryposis and is affected in all 4 limbs. I am currently working on a documentary about AMC not only from a medical perspective but from a family perspective as well. If you are still looking for a filmmaker, we would love to talk and share details of our project. We are just in the planning stages and hope to complete the documentary by July 2009 (for the US-based annual AMC convention).
