I saw the film on the big screen, and it's fantastic. The music is really wonderful and the 4 hours flew by. Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers are great musciains and entertainers. I can't wait to watch the documentary again on Sundance Channel.

Today is the 3rd time I've missed seeing this program. I always end up catching the last 60 minutes or so of it.

Any idea when the next air date is going to be so I can watch for it?

I too keep missing parts - and the bits I have seen have turned me into a TP fanatic. I was never really interested in his music before, but the documentary was fantastic. From what I can see on the programming schedule there is nothing coming up in the next month. I hope I'm wrong - but I have listened to almost all his albums in the last week or so and plan to buy most of them - they're awesome! I hope they play it again so I can make sure I schedule to tape it. I am loving this new discovery - I haven't listened to 1 song I didn't like!

Sorry, all these posts saying "I've never bought one of his records, but GEEZE, he has talent churns out sheer brutally honest brilliance like clockwork, for decades and he's a really nice guy" To all of you, check your pulse , cuz you might be dead. I remember the exact moment I heard "I Need To Know" in my car, I remember the exact location, a big wooded curve, I cranked it up to max and I was driving so fast I thought my Camero could take flight, I drove strait to the record store and bought "Damn the Torpedos". It was equally as mentally pivtol watching The Beatles on The Ed Sullivan Show. It's like being hit with a musical meteor, nothing has been the same since, and I did meet him once, and he is an outstanding individual, a salt of the earth, nice guy. The weird thing, is I ended up in a band, in London years later, with 2 Guys from the Fabulous Poodles, his opening act for that tour, who were all in the same room that night in Austin, Texas. I just had to respond to all the "I never knew" comments, you guys, need to further explore the whole catalog, cuz, it just gets better every time you hear it.
