I think we really need to watch out with questions such as why did God create homosexual people. God created everyone, does that mean He created us all to be a certain way? If so then we are proclaiming that there is no free will. If so then we are proclaiming that there is no such thing as spiritual entities that affect humans and the earth. If so, we are proclaiming that God created people to be crippled, that GOd created people to desire to murder someone, that God created people to be blind, that God created people to be peodophiles, that God created people to be alcoholics. I love people, I really do, but we cant fall into "let people do what they want" mentality. It's bullshit. I love a lot of what Jay has to say, I really do, and right now I am not saying that I disagree with anything he has said so far. I just want to state that to disagree with someone, to think that someone is sinning, to think that someone is doing something wrong or awful DOES NOT MEAN YOU ARE IGNORANT, UNLOVING, OR UNMERCIFUL. Love is telling someone they are wrong when they are. Jesus told people when they were in the wrong, as did the apostles. It is how you approach the matter. Are you going to do it with love, with the hope that they will shed what harms them physically or spiritually? Or be like some mean fucks and say your going to hell and burn forever.
I am a smoker. Many of you guys might say, so what? And then get angry at Christians you say its sinful. Hey, I am doing something selfish right? Harming myself, making my friends and family sad with each puff. Is it sin, or is it okay?
Am I a bad guy, someone who is out of grace for saying its a sin to be gay? I have friends that are gay. They know I disagree with their lifestyle. Not once have I ever told them they are going to hell. Not once have I ever said God doesnt love them. Not once have I ever thought these things. Is this wrong?
I just can see, as typical in humans, us going from one extreme to another and do not want it to happen. First you see a lot of Christians being hateful telling people they are going to hell. Then we receive a new sense of grace, a new movement that says, as the gospel does, God Loves Everyone. Come to Christ and He will lead you to the Father. I love it. Absolutely love it. However, I think we are missing out on what Christ wanted in this. He wanted us to love people, love them dearly, but that doesn't mean we should bat an eye to the wrong they do. You may say, who are you to judge what is right and wrong? We have rules right? We all get disgusted at the idea of someone blowing up innocent people, right? Someone raping another human being. We just cannot be scared that we are going to become like the legalistic fucks when we try to call a friend on something wrong they do. And it should be a friend. Only those we are really close to should we chastise with love. No one likes that word, I know, but it doesnt have to have that negative context that has grown with it. Chastisement can be calm, can be filled with love. Let's not forget that.
