Sorry to say this, but quite a lackluster selection of MOR acts. Are Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dave Matthews, John Mayer, Norah Jones, Snow Patrol, The Goo-Goo Dolls, etc., really in need of more exposure? Personally, I'd like to see edgier, less mainstream acts. There's so much interesting stuff out there. A few random suggestions of things which I don't think would be too "out there" for Sundance Channel: Deerhoof, Clinic, Bill Frisell, Mouse On Mars, Sigur Ros, Boards Of Canada, Air, Broadcast, Madvillain, Cannibal Ox, Stereolab, Bjork, Cat Power, Mars Volta, Robert Wyatt, Scott Walker, etc., etc.

Much as I like Mayer, RHCP, and Norah, I have to agree.

PORTIONS OF TONIGHTS SHOW MAY NOT BE WHAT I NORMALLY LISTEN TO.
BUT I AM SURE THAT IRON MAIDEN WILL ROCK.
SO I WILL ENDURE THE OTHER STUFF TO SEE THEM.
PERSONALLY I'M JUST GLAD TO HAVE SOME LIVE MUSIC IN A 60 MINUTE FORMAT.
KIND OF REMINDS ME OF REVERB FROM A FEW YEARS BACK. WHICH WAS A GOOD SHOW.
SO I HOPE THIS SHOW STAYS ON AWHILE.

While I agree that extra exposure for little known acts would be great, I have to disagree with you about Dave Matthews. What mainstream exposure does he or the Dave Matthews Band receive? I'm excited that Dave is on this show because he usually doesn't get air time. Dave Matthews is (IMO) one of the most original and talented guitarists/song writers of our time. More people need to see his guitar playing!

Well, according to IMDB, Dave Matthews' many TV appearances over the years have included 11 episodes of the Late Show with David Letterman, 6 episodes of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and 4 episodes of Saturday Night Live.

i am loving this show! as much as we cannot help but complain about whether it is really "live" or the choice of artists that are being showcased this season, blah blah blah, etc., i'm still tuning in every Thursday because it sure beats watching MTV or Letterman, etc. every night. it was a treat to see joe sample (definitely NOT mainstream) tonight for example. I'm sure the producers believe that they have to put some popular acts on here to attract the viewers - all the more reason to do so and squeeze in a lesser known artist on the same show to help fuel their exposure.

looking forward to catching the rest of the shows this season. let there be more!!!!!

I have to aggree. There are a lot of artists who are great but never get any radio or video play. How about getting The Brian Jonestown Massacre in there for a show?

Couple other bands that are way underexposed like...

        Shipwreck Union, Downtown, Ebling Hughes
