I just finished watching Dust to Dust. The entire time I watched this film, tears ran down my face. I was shocked, saddened, and for the first time in my life, ashamed to be an American.

How can we treat these people this way? "Yes, you're our hero, but we won't help you pay your medical bills because Ground Zero made you sick, thanks for what you did, but you're on your own!"

Those firefighters and police and the other workers deserve MUCH better than this. I for one am very glad this film was made. The truth may hurt but the truth needs to come out. I have told all my friends about this film and I am considering starting a petition to circulate online demanding that the government honor the rights of these people and give them the benefits that they DESERVE, and MORE!

      Dear shocked, saddened, and ashamed,

I too am still proud to be an American but I'm seriously ashamed and disgusted by how we are behaving! There is NO excuse for how this government has turned their backs on the rescue workers. I am in the process of establishing a foundation to raise AWARENESS and large sums of money for each and everyone of these sick rescue workers. It's so obvious that we can't rely on the government, the healthcare industry or corporations to help so we must take it upon ourselves, fellow citizens working together to make a difference and show these brave men & women that we still care!

When my foundation is up & running I hope you'll contribute in any way you can?

      SAM
