Congratulations to Sundance Channel for experimenting with offering independent films in a virtual world environment. I think that spaces like Second Life have a lot of potential to change the way people consume and interact with movies and other video content, in ways that both build upon the traditional movie-going and TV-watching experiences, but also go beyond them.

I plan on being there in-world for the showing of Four-Eyed Monsters, as well as seeing the movie in the theaters when it opens in my town. Both of these viewing experiences I think are special and communal in related by distinct ways.

I look forward to future in-world showings and opportunities to interact with film-makers and other film buffs like myself. Good luck on Tuesday.

Here's more thoughts on the future of virtual world film distribution [www.rikomatic.com], in case anyone is interested.
