Sundance Channel in Second Life and the future of film distribution

Sundance Channel in Second Life and the future of film distribution Posted on Jan 7 2007 at 1:37pm by Congratulations to Sundance Channel for experimenting with offering independent films in a virtual world environment. I think that spaces like Second Life have a lot of potential to change the way people consume and interact with movies and other video content, in ways that both build upon the traditional movie-going and TV-watching experiences, but also go beyond them.
I plan on being there in-world for the showing of Four-Eyed Monsters, as well as seeing the movie in the theaters when it opens in my town. Both of these viewing experiences I think are special and communal in related by distinct ways.
I look forward to future in-world showings and opportunities to interact with film-makers and other film buffs like myself. Good luck on Tuesday.
