This is a must see doc. of one of the best songwriters ever. I have my recorder set to record the next time it is on.

A "must-see" indeed. I can't believe how little input there is from viewers of this outstanding doc. Stitched together from original footage, interviews and beautifully staged cutaways, this is an unstinting look at a complex talent, at once gifted and monstrous. From enfant terrible to stumblebum, a telling portrait of the artist. A case study in documentary craft.

      historienne.

Fascinating study of the highs and lows of this gifted poet...interviews with friends, family and peers...tragic story of genius and madness. Left me glued to the set watching his talent, his love of his craft come through, while he was coming undone. Well respected artists/musicians describe their reactions to his talents with awe....

Beautiful, heartbreaking, inspiring and very much a MUST SEE.

Reminds me of the line . . . "He was too good for this world."
