Kath and Kim Posted on Dec 22 2006 at 2:42pm by Great show. Always wondered why it never took off the US as it did in Oz and the UK. Saw an article in Melbourne's "Age" that there might be a US version coming out. Don't see how it could be as good.
Maybe it didn't take off here as well because we Americans have trouble with the Aussie accents, but I always think of the Australian accent as a cross between a Boston accent and Texas accent. No prob's, no worries, then. Only Texans and Aussies can put three or more syllables into a two letter word like "me."
Saw some other posts asking if people in Aus are really like K & K. Duh. No more than any silly American sitcoms represent the real American people. K & K's are everywhere in the US. Go to a mall. My brother-in-law is a dead ringer for Kel, even to the hair. Not as fit though.
Absolutely brilliant show. Next time we get to Melbourne I want our friends to take us to IKEA, the Golden Mile and the mall. I think we've missed the best parts of Melbourne in our previous visits.
