Wow...yes, this is very cool. When we did the very same types of improvements to our 1930s brick bungalow in Denver, CO, we couldn't get anyone to care. Our thought was, "We don't have to level these beautiful old home...we just need to make them green!" From salvaged doors and lighting fixtures (that use CFLs, of course), to blue jean insulation, recycled carpet, insulating concrete forms, recycled brick, cork flooring and natural paint, we did it all. But, in 2000, we couldn't get any of the building or energy conservation groups or local media interested. I am so glad that has changed. Keep up the good work!
