Simran Sethi Hosts Upcoming Environmental Event

Simran Sethi, the host of THE GREEN, is an inspired journalist who covers stories that most news outlets would not consider investigating. In collaboration with Uptown Magazine, Simran Sethi is investigating how cultural differences play a part in the green movement going on around the world.

"Join a panel of A-list personalities, nationally recognized environmentalists and social pioneers for a press conference and provocative town hall discussion exploring race marginalization within the environmental movement"

"Hosted by Simran Sethi of The Sundance Channel's THE GREEN, Ms. Sethi has been a guest on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" and "Martha Stewart Living" as well as being a featured pioneer in Vanity Fair's Green Issue."

"The event honors the release of author/environmentalist Jarid Mano's book "Ghetto Plainsman" (Temba House Press) [www.ghettoplainsman.com]. Jarid is Founder and CEO of Great Plains Restoration Council, which is leading the new Ecological Health movement. GPRC believes in the exhilaration of life, and works to help people heal violence, conflict, despair, depression and illness through personal participation in the protection and recovery of Nature."

The event will include a screening of footage from the exclusive Sundance Channel web series, THE GOOD FIGHT.

"The event will also highlight UPTOWN Magazine's Winter '08 Philanthropy Issue featuring Russell Simmons on the cover - www.UptownLife.net."
