Made In China

A provocative bit of photojournalism by independent filmmaker, Prajna Core, explores themes shockingly relevant to today's tumultuous markets, political climate and the coming election.

The global economy, fair trade, declining jobs, outsourcing and even the complexity of pollution and the environment are all touched upon in this simple and short film. They say a picture's worth a thousand words, there are therefore thousands of words spoken by this simultaneously humorous and chilling collage.

The purpose of this film is to hopefully provoke viewers to examine the interconnection of the individual and the global economy and how seemingly little decisions make us all complicit in issues of great impact. We urge you to take a moment to examine your home as Prajna Core does and see what you find. Please share and discuss this film.

This is insane. And it's exactly why our economy is what it is.

This makes me think again about the old mantra "Think globally, act locally" . . . . what do we do now?

We need to rethink what we're buying for sure. I was surprised that even eco-lightbulbs are in there. I for one, think that this is a discrepancy of industry that we need to look at seriously when our economy is plummeting and China's is growing every day?!? We're talking a lot about being dependent on foreign oil. How about our dependency on Chinese manufacturing?!?

A very good little piece this.......resonates with me as about half the stuff in my house is a once used gadget / paraphernalia that originated in China!!! Oh to think of the money i could have saved and the amount of CO2 I am responsible for!
