A new look for Lolita

Lolita, such a great book. So deserving of a great cover. One blogger held a contest. Now it’s being turned into a book, with designs from both contest entrants and solicited pieces by well-known designers. Here are all the links to follow:
- Venus Febriculosa, the blog by architect John Bertram — here you’ll find the entire history of his contest and the resulting art book.
- Bertram’s inspiration: All the covers of Lolita that have been published, collected by Nabokov scholar and translator Dieter E. Zimmer.
- All of the entrants to Bertram’s contest.
- The winners that Bertram originally picked.
- “Recovering Lolita,” a recent interview with Bertram about the book project by Imprint magazine with a nice selection of the new covers.
- Story found via Flavorwire, which also has a good selection of some of the best covers from the contest and the upcoming book.
