Watch this space: Our online festival coverage is about to blow your mind
Fans who can’t attend this year’s festivities can enjoy exclusive festival coverage online at www.sundancechannel.com/festival which will include Acura’s Festival VIP interview video series featuring exclusive talent, photos by acclaimed NYC photographer Dmitri Gudkov, and full festival coverage of by movie writer Matt Singer.
Sundance Channel has partnered with several leading organizations including Newsweek & The Daily Beast, the social magazine app Flipboard, the non-profit organization ONE, and the location-based social app foursquare, to create the ultimate Sundance Film Festival experience.
These programs include:
Newsweek & The Daily Beast’s media lounge on the second floor of the HQ, where their reporters will interview and photograph top industry celebrities. To help cover all the action from Park City, The Daily Beast will post daily exclusive news reports on Sundance Channel’s SUNfiltered blog.
ONE, the anti-poverty organization co-founded by Bono, will work with Sundance Channel to create original video and photo content around ONE’s ambitious new campaign to reach “The Beginning of the End of AIDS” by 2015. Talent will be recorded for a new ONE video, to be launched next month, asking the public to join in this important effort. Photographs and behind the scenes content from the video shoot at Sundance Channel HQ will be released from the Festival via ONE’s Facebook and Twitter accounts and ONE.org. In addition, ONE will host live celebrity chats during the first weekend of the Festival via ONE’s Facebook page www.facebook.com/ONE. In the live interviews, talent will answer questions, including some sent in via ONE’s Facebook page, about their films and about why they are supporting ONE’s AIDS campaign. ONE is a grassroots advocacy and campaigning organization that fights extreme poverty and preventable disease, particularly in Africa, by raising public awareness and pressing political leaders to support smart and effective policies and programs that are saving lives, helping to put kids in school and improving futures.
Flipboard, the social magazine for iPad and iPhone, will feature Sundance Channel, with special coverage from the HQ media lounge. Using Flipboard, it’s easy to “flip” through a beautiful magazine chronicling Sundance Channel’s coverage of the Sundance Film Festival and all the events and people there.
Guests on the ground can also connect directly with Sundance Channel’s by following us on foursquare and checking into the location. After check in, the first 100 people to check in to the Sundance Channel HQ will unlock a special for a free Sundance Channel beanie hat. In addition, the “500th” person to check in will receive an HQ gift bag filled with Festival must-haves and an Amazon Kindle.
