Meeting Milton Glaser
Forgive me while I geek out for a minute. But the other day I met the legend Milton Glaser!
Milton Glaser is a design legend. That cannot be overstated. The man created the “I Heart New York” logo, arguably the most copied design in the world.
I spent the afternoon with Milton. We talked about Bob Dylan and meeting Obama and Alan Heller, who introduced us. I saw his work and got to peruse his studio’s basement, full of posters and lithographs. I, being a poster collector, was in a heaven!
It was a special moment for me. As I sat in the building where New York Magazine was started, I could not help but be overwhelmed by the significance of design and its need in this world.
