Former film critic Kelvin Tong directs Singapore's first horror feature, the story of Rosa (Alessandra de Rossi), a young Filipino who moves to Singapore to work as a maid for a Chinese family. Unfortunately, her arrival coincides with the seventh month of the Chinese calendar - known as Hungry Ghost Month -when the Gates of Hell open and the undead prowl the land. There are strict rules to protect oneself from ghostly revenge; however, outsider Rosa unintentionally violates the rituals and is soon surrounded by spectral apparitions.
