Frank Scura has spent the last 25 years as a marketing agent, sales representative and company owner in the Action Sports and Sustainable Industries. He wrote and produced one of the first major network Action Sports lifestyles TV program for Fox Sports Net (Invert TV). Some of the positions he has held over the years have been Division Marketing director for Vision Street Wear, Executive V.P Odyssey Bear Corp. President of the NFA (National Free Style Assn.) Through the 1980's and 90's he announced and performed at bicycle freestyle demos, contests and specialty events with GT, Hutch, Diamond back the AFA (American Freestyle Assn.) and the Danon/Adidas "Just Say No" trick team. Frank has studied the rise and fall of action sports companies and the expansion and contraction trends of the action sports industry for three decades. His extensive experience in the business of action sports has led him to understand the nuances of corporate responsibility.
Scura's work as an environmental activist and sustainability consultant over the last ten years has educated him to the need for better understanding of ecological issues and higher standards of environmental protection within all corporate planning and practices. To further these goals, Frank is now the CEO of Eco Resolutions, a sustainable consulting, sourcing and marketing firm with a client list which includes Quiksilver Int, Oakley, American Apparel, Hurley International, DC Shoes, Sole Technologies, Sambazon Sustainable Rainforest Products, Guayaki and many more.
Frank's primary passion is ASEC, The Action Sports Environmental Coalition, the non-profit he formed over 4 years ago with Action Sports Athletes Bob Burnquist, Jen O'Brien and many of the industries leaders. Today, ASEC has grown to become the common ground for pro athletes and action sports industry leaders, natural products companies, and the youth of America. In a concerted effort, these diverse groups come together to educate youth and adults on the many environmental issues our world faces today. Through ASEC festivals (which include skate park demos, carnival games, and product giveaways) communities are brought together and kids are offered entertainment that is both educational and builds self esteem.
Frank shares the board of ASEC with its co-founders Bob Burnquist (professional skateboarder), Damon Way (Co-Founder DC Shoes), Jen O'Brien (professional skateboarder), Danny Way (professional skateboarder), Julia Butterfly Hill (world renowned environmental activist and best selling author), Daryl Hannah (actress and environmental leader), Clifford Bast (Former Global Manager of Hewlett Packard's environmental leadership program), Cara Beth Burnside (professional skate & snowboarder), Jason Salfi (founder of Comet Skateboards) ...Enjoy the Ride.
