More on Chris Jordan |
BIOThe son of a photographer and painter, Chris Jordan initially took a different path in life when he became a corporate lawyer working in insurance litigation. As his 40th birthday began approaching, Chris realized that his livelihood was leaving him detached and alienated from the world, which prompted him to suddenly abandon his successful law career to attempt one in photography. He quickly gained art world attention for his 2005 photo series documenting the destruction left by Hurricane Katrina, for which he is currently nominated for the prestigious Prix Pictet photography award. Yet it's his Running the Numbers series, which confronts viewers with the truth of the waste they create, that has made him one of the most famous new photographers. |
